	Donald W. Rice, age 71, of Pinckneyville, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Don was born on July 2, 1933 in Du Quoin, a son to Erwin W. Rice and Irene (Davis) Woodworth.  He married Doris Kellerman on September 13, 1952 in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Todd's Mill.  He served in the United States Army 2nd Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Todd's Mill.  He was retired from the Local 520 Operating Engineers.   He enjoyed small engine repair, was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved his family.
	Survivors include his wife: Doris of Pinckneyville, five sons: Donald L. and Patty Rice of Gillespie, Ill., Richard A. Rice of Pinckneyville, Mark S. and Susan Rice of Jacksonville, Ill., Charles and Ann Rice of Naples, Ill., Bruce E. Rice of Pinckneyville, three daughters: Kathy A. and Ross Jenkel of
Pinckneyville, Sheila J. and Rick Nelson of Concord, Ill. and Lisa L. and Richard Yates of O'Fallon, Ill., two half-brothers: Gene and Tonya Duncan of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Charles and Tina Duncan of Dix, Ill., three half-sisters: Dixie Pendersen of Chandler, Ariz., Shirley and John Benton of Du Quoin, IL, and Betty Crain of Dix, Ill., 23 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Marsha Lynn Rice, and one brother: Gerald D. Rice.
	Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Todd's Mill with Graveside Military Rites provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post 2504.
	Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
